Hunter Safety Classes

Over 8,500 young hunters started their hunting experiences here at the Mecosta County Rod and Gun club. We have providedthis service free of charge for over 30 years. This program is a DNR approved Hunter Safety Certification course that is required of all young hunters.  Students in the Big Rapids and Morley-Stanwood school districts are targeted for this course. The course will teach students about hunter safety, ethics and good sportsmanship.  Additionally, students will have hands on experience shooting shotguns, rifles, bow and arrows, and black powder rifles.  Adults are encouraged to attend with their children

Courses for the 2012 year are as follows:
Session 1 May 15, 17 and 19, 2012
Session 2 July 24, 26 and 28, 2012

Students must attend all 3 sessions of the week they choose!

The classes meet during the week of the session on Tuesdays from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM, Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
